Lamar Attwood

Mr. Lamar Attwood, age 87, of Forrest City, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at his home.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors in Pine Bluff is in charge of funeral services.


Clifford Leslie Ellis

Mr. Clifford Leslie Ellis, age 89, of Wynne, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Wynne.

Mr. Ellis was born in 1915, in Pine Tree. He was a veteran of the United States Army, worked at Harris Lumber Company in Wynne for 34 years before retiring in 1982.

Mr. Ellis married Wilmuth Tolise Pounders and she preceded him in death in 1994. He is survived by a daughter, Joanna Gail Moore of Forrest City; a son, Roland Dale Ellis of Wynne; and one brother Gerald Ellis of Warrensburg, Mo. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leslie Ellis and Dessie Louise Love Ellis.

Visitation for Mr. Ellis will be from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Burial will follow in Barnishaw Cemetery in Pine Tree.


LaVerne Hutcherson

Mrs. LaVerne Hutcherson, age 82, of Forrest City, died Saturday at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. She had been in the hospital for the past three weeks.

Mrs. Hutcherson was born May 6, 1921, in Hickman, Kentucky, and was the daughter of W.P. Brewer and Ida Beatrice Brewer. She was the Door Greeter at the Forrest City Walmart, a member of the Eastern Star, the Wynne Bowling League, and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hutcherson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Robbie Hutcherson of Forrest City, two daughters and a son-in-law; Belinda H. Fortenberry, Vickie and Chuck Forrester, all of Forrest City, four grandchildren; Deborah Littlejohn, Tonya May, Terry Don Guthrie, and Kara Southerland, and five great-grandchildren. She also had a very special friend, Atrell Jones. She was preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers, and a grandson, G. T. Hutcherson III.

Services for Mrs. Hutcherson will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
