Florence "Sissy" Baty

Mrs. Florence "Sissy" Baty, age 76, of Widener, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in Widener. She was a homemaker and a member of the Widener Baptist Church.

Mrs. Baty is survived by a daughter, Jeannie Marie Furno of Colleoda, Tenn.; two sons, James Steve Baty of Summertown, Tenn. and Timothy Wayne Baty of Widener; a sister, Gail Jones of Forrest City; two brothers, Wallace Davis of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Bobby Davis of Forrest City; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Halford; a daughter, Patricia Ann Sidle and a brother, Gorden Davis.

Visitation for Mrs. Baty will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Widener Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Widener Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis is in charge of all arrangements.


Leather Ann Hughes

Mrs. Leather Ann Hughes, age 94, of Palestine, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Crestpark of Wynne.

Mrs. Hughes, born Feb. 2, 1910, was a retired farmer. She is survived by a daughter, Future Davenport of Battle Creek, Mich.; a brother Jerome Pulley of Battle Creek, Mich.; three sisters, Alma Scott of Battle Creek, Mich., Earia Lee Reed of Gary, Ind., and Ivory Bondon of Palestine. Mrs. Hughes is also survived by three grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Hughes will be held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Antioch M.B. Church with Rev. Daron Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Roy Mucherson

Mr. Roy Mucherson, age 49, of Forrest City, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Mucherson was born April 13, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Richard Mucherson and Annie Pearl Smith Mucherson.

Mr. Mucherson is survived by his wife, Deloris Mucherson of Forrest City; his mother of Widener; five daughters, Rena Mucherson of Jonesboro, Tammy Mucherson of Pontiac, Mich., Schreel Hinds of Forrest City, Joyce Bonner of Little Rock and Sylvia Mucherson of Holly Grove; five sons, Roy Mucherson Jr. of Pontiac, Mich., Joseph Mucherson and Clarence Mucherson both of Forrest City, and Carl Mucherson and Keith Mucherson both of Holly Grove. Also, a brother, William Mucherson of Earle and five grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Mucherson will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Widener Baptist Church with Rev. Elbert Carr officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
