Mr. Fletcher L. Kitchens, age 70, of Jonesboro, and a former resident of West Memphis and Crawfordsville, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born Aug. 28, 1933, in Parkin, a son of Elizabeth Buchannan Kitchens of Forrest City and Fletcher L. Kitchens Sr. He was a self-employed electrician and machinist for many years.
Mr. Kitchens is survived by his wife, Ruth Kitchens of Jonesboro; two sons, Shelton L. Kitchens of Shearerville and Jeff Jones of Marion; four daughters, Pam Cunningham of Forrest City, Vickie Cagle of Hiram, Ga., Bobbie Ann Taylor of Marion and Jayme Gayman of Barksdale Air Force Base, La.; his mother, Elizabeth Buchannan Kitchens of Forrest City; two sisters, Martha Rose and Faye Kitchens, both of Forrest City; three brothers, Sam Kitchens of Springdale, James Kitchens of Rondo and David Kitchens of Proctor; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at the funeral home, with Bro. Charlie Dewitt officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Palestine.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Kidney Foundation.
Mr. Ivory McKnight, age 45, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at his home.
Mr. McKnight was born Sept. 11, 1958, in Forrest City.
He is survived by his mother, Nearline McKnight of Forrest City; four brothers, Lorenzo McKnight of Phoenix, Ariz., Lawrence McKnight and Theodis McKnight, both of Delight and Larry McKnight of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Loistine Hollins of Ft. Leonardwood, Mo. and Clara Sykes of Forrest City.
Graveside services for Mr. McKnight were held on Saturday,
Feb. 21, 2004, at Forrest City Cemetery. Clay Funeral Home was
in charge of all arrangements.
Mrs. Lavada Riddell, age 77, of Amagon, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Newport.
She was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Etowah, the daughter of Jeff and Beddie (Pharris) Pruett.
She worked at various shoe factories and was a member of the Midway Church of Christ. She also served as mayor of Amagon for one term and was instrumental in helping organize the building of Amagon's People Helping People Community Center.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.T. Riddell of Amagon, a son, James P. Riddell of Forrest City; a daughter, Linda Roberson of Amagon; a brother, Dexter Pruett of Newport; three sisters, Wilma Jean Garrett of Gainsville, Ga., Betty Woodruff of Monterey, La., and Beverly Stoker of Amagon; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Riddell will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at the Midway Church of Christ, with Llano Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Pennington Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, from 5-8 p.m.
