Ralph Jay Casey

Mr. Ralph Jay Casey, age 37, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.

Mr. Casey was born April 17, 1966, in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of Ralph Jasper Casey and Gertie Rearigh Casey. He lived in Forrest City most of his life, had served in the Navy and was a truck driver.

Mr. Casey is survived by two sisters, Stacy Price of Forrest City and Beverly Stewart of Tunica, Miss.; his paternal grandmother, Geneva Casey of Forrest City; and two nephews and a niece.

Visitation for Mr. Casey will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held graveside at Forrest Park Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Embry officiating.

The family requests that memorials be made to Wesley Chapel Church.


Vera Coons

Mrs. Vera Coons, age 75, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, in Palestine.

Mrs. Coons was born July 17, 1928, in Tupelo, Miss., the daughter of John B. Taylor and Martha Smith Taylor. She lived in Parkin before moving to St. Francis County 15 years ago. She was a housewife and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Forrest City.

Mrs. Coons married William Coons and he preceded her in death in 1972. She is survived by a son, Gene Coons of Forrest City; four daughters, Barbara Westbrook of Palestine, Sherry Marcum of Forrest City, Mary Pretty and Judy Ennis both of Wynne; a brother, Roy Taylor of Indiana; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Coons will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Farmhill Cemetery in Harrisburg.
