Eddie Gene Higgins

Mr. Eddie Gene Higgins, age 50, of Little Rock and formerly of Forrest City, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004. He was a long-time employee of Smith Fiber Cast.

Mr. Higgins is survived by his wife, George Ella Higgins; a daughter, Lisa Daniel; three step-daughters, Teresa Givens, Monica Givens and Tekisha Givens; two sons, Marcus Higgins and Terry Higgins; a step-son, Kortney Chapman; three brothers; four sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mr. Higgins will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home in Little Rock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at 11 a.m., at the Greater Grace Baptist Church, located at 8815 Lew Dr. in Little Rock. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Johnny C. Mays

Mr. Johnny C. Mays, age 51, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Mays, born June 11, 1952, in Forrest City, is survived by two daughters, Pakita Jones and Latoya Hughes both of Forrest City; a brother, Herman Mays of Peoria, Ill.; four sisters, Beatrice Williams, Eddie Mae Veasley, Dicie Tobar and Corine Williams all of Forrest City and four grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Mays will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the United Christian M.B. Church with Rev. Juster Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
