Miriam O'Kelley

Mrs. Miriam O'Kelley, age 83, of Millington, Tenn. and formerly of Brighton, Tenn., died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. O'Kelley, a member of the First Baptist Church in Millington, is survived by her husband, Charles O'Kelley; a daughter, Barbara Fox of Millington, Tenn.; four step-daughters, Donna Bennett of Las Vegas, Nev., Karen Dunlap of Dallas, Texas, Betty Baker of Covington, Tenn. and Marcia Leach of Brighton, Tenn.; a step-son, Neal O'Kelley, of Brighton, Tenn.; a sister, Ada Belle Fry of Fort Smith; a brother, Roland L. Jarrett Jr. of Livonia, Mich.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. O'Kelley will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Millington. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Lincoln. The Munford Funeral Home in Millington is in charge of all arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.


Thelma M. Orrell

Mrs. Thelma M. Orrell, age 77, of Casey, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.

Mrs. Orrell, a homemaker, was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Casey, Ill., the daughter of Thomas Stinson and Nettie M. Reinbolt Stinson.

Mrs. Orrell is survived by her two sons, Bill Orrell of Casey, Ill. and Andy Orrell of El Campo, Texas; two daughters, Pat Hudgens of Enville, Tenn. and Jean Graves of Forrest City; a brother, Oscar Stinson of Fairbanks, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Murphy, Irene Whitling and Norma Butcher all of Casey, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor P. Orrell in 1999; a brother, Donald Stinson; a sister, Helen Updegraff and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Orrell were held on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, Ill. with Rev. Jeff Lakins officiating. Burial followed in Casey Cumberland Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the Casey White Oak Church Building Fund.


Buford Owens

Mr. Buford Owens, age 81, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.

Mr. Owens was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Bottle Neck, the son of Ellis and Vera Owens. He was a retired orange grower in California.

Mr. Owens is survived by two daughters, Brenda Craig of Marianna and Glenda Thomas of Forrest City; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Jane Owens in 2000 and a daughter, Dorothy Steven.

Visitation for Mr. Owens will be held on Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at 10 a.m., at Morgan Funeral Home, with Bro. Gene Criag officiating. Burial will follow in Marianna Memorial Park.


Elbert Cockrill "Bert" Person III

Mr. Elbert Cockrill "Bert" Person III, age 37, of Marianna, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Marianna.

Mr. Person, the son of Jimmy and Barbara Person of Forrest City, was a maintenance worker for Frost Flying Service. Mr. Person is survived by his parents and a brother, Jim Person of Forrest City.

Funeral services for Mr. Person were held on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis.
