Mrs. Mattie Lou Bumgarner, age 71, of Forrest City died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Crestpark Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1932 in Sadonia, Tenn., the daughter of John Beaty Sr., and Beatrice Stevenson. She had lived in Forrest City all of her life where she worked for 25 years at General Industries and 27 years at Holiday Inn. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Linuel Bumgarner in 1972.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry "Stepp" Bumgarner of Texarkana, Ark., Reggie Bumgarner of Forrest City and Lynn Bumgarner of Wynne; two daughters, Linda Jean Bumgarner of Memphis and Rhonda Kay Bumgarner of California; a sister, Marion Hudson of Sharon, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Bay Village Cemetery in Bay Village with Rev. Clay Hughes officiating, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
