Betty Hollis Kennedy

Ms. Betty Hollis Kennedy, age 55, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.

Ms. Kennedy was born June 24, 1948, in Wynne, the daughter of James Hollis Peeler and Lois Bryant Peeler. She was a member of the Wynne Baptist Church, a 1966 graduate of Wynne High School and a bookkeeper for Reginald Lee's Department store for 20 years. Ms. Kennedy is survived by a sister, Toni Ellis of Forrest City.

Visitation for Ms. Kennedy will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home of Wynne. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in the Chapel of Kernodle Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gary Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Wynne Baptist Church, P.O. Box 874, Wynne, AR 72396.


Neuvertral Little

Sister Neuvertral "Mutt" Little, age 74, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

Mrs. Little was born June 27, 1929, in Round Pond, the daughter of Geva Jones and Henderson Love Jones. She is survived by five daughters, Gloria Martin of Chicago Heights, Ill., Barbara Sandifer, Doris Robinson, Billie Jean Little and Yvonne Williams all of Forrest City. She was preceded in death by two children, Larry Little and Louis Smith.

Visitation for Mrs. Little will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, from 12 to 5 p.m., at People's Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Rising Sun M.B. Church, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery in Edmonson.


Vernon Dwayne Nelson

Vernon "Vern" Dwayne Nelson, age 64, of Forrest City, died suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Baptist East in Memphis, Tennessee.

He was born October 21, 1939, in Bruno, Minnesota, to Edwin and Nina Henson Nelson. He was owner and operator of Vern's Auto Service and Repair in Forrest City. Not only was Vern a great mechanic, but a fine friend to all. Mr. Nelson was also a member of the Oak Hill Church of God in Forrest City.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Don Nelson.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Cindi; a daughter, Amber Jeanene; and a son, Cory Nelson, of the home (where great love and happiness did abound); two sons, Steven Michael Nelson of Iowa and Dwayne Nelson of Montana; a daughter, Charmaine Nelson Rose of Pittsburg, Penn; three brothers, Lyle and Harry Nelson of Texas and Larry Nelson of Minnesota; two sisters, Barbara Fonders of North Dakota, and Dode Nelson Molgaard of Minnesota; and two grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Nelson will be Friday evening, January 30, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Oak Hill Church of God.

Funeral services for Mr. Nelson will be Saturday morning, January 31, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at the Oak Hill Church of God with Bro. William Witcher officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.


Raymond Allan Webb

Mr. Raymond Allan Webb, age 50, of Proctor, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in Memphis.

Mr. Webb was a salesman and a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the West Memphis Saddle Club, the National Rifle Association and a Methodist.

Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Joy Webb of Proctor; three daughters, Sharon Rowell and Nikki Dalton, both of Hernando, Miss. and Rae Putt of Cabot; his mother, Hazel Bell Webb of Forrest City; two sisters, Ronnie Nix of West Memphis and Sharon Devasier of Forrest City; three brothers, Wayne Webb of West Helena, Jimmy Webb of Jacksonville and Johnny Webb of Sheridan and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Franklin Webb.

Visitation for Mr. Webb will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Marianna Memorial Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
