Mrs. Mary Murphy, age 89, of Madison, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East.
Mrs. Murphy was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Senatobia, Miss. and she was a retired farmer. She is survived by several relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Murphy will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2004, at 1 p.m., at the United Christian M.B. Church with Rev. Norris Latham Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
Ms. Bess Catherine Shirley, age 23, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at her home in Forrest City.
Ms. Shirley was born June 25, 1981, in Forrest City, the daughter of Peter Shirley and Judy Oskowis Shirley. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church.
Ms. Shirley is survived by her parents of Forrest City and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Shirley of Blytheville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Oskowis.
Visitation for Ms. Shirley will be held on Friday, July 2, 2004, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home followed by Rosary at 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at 9 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Ed Graves officiating with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery.
