Albert LeRoy Buford Jr.

Mr. Albert LeRoy Buford Jr., age 47, of Colt, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Mr. Buford was born Jan. 28, 1957, in Forrest City, the son of Albert LeRoy Buford Sr. and Willie Mae Powell Buford. He is survived by both his parents of Colt; three daughters, Tekenyah Buford of Pine Bluff, Brittney Buford of Hot Springs and Tabitha Buford of Little Rock; three sisters, Pearlitha Davis and Yvonne Vaughn both of Little Rock and Valerie Hamilton of Colt; six brothers, Bobby Buford, Stanley Buford, Terrell Hamilton and LeRoy Hamilton all of Forrest City, and Randy Hamilton, and Donnie Fryer both of Colt. He is also survived by one grandchild.

Visitation for Mr. Buford will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Moriah M.B. Church with Rev. Connie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery.


Florence Theresa Cole

Mrs. Florence Theresa Cole, 75, of Forrest City, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Cole, born Sept. 25 1928, in of Long Island, N.Y, was a retired school bus driver. In 1949, she married Harry W. Cole and he preceded her in death in 1972. She is survived by four sons, Edward Cole of Florida, Harry Cole Jr. and Chuck Cole, both of Forrest City, and Michael Cole of West Memphis; three daughters, Pat Stephens of Bauxite, Terri Nelson of Illinois and Cathy Barnes of Forrest City; two brothers, Charles Dietz of Forrest City and Harry Dietz of Florida; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Cole will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery with Bro. W.L. Pretence officiating.


Elizabeth Crain

Mrs. Elizabeth Crain, age 46, of Lafayette, Colo., died Saturday, June 26, 2004, in Longmont, Colo.

Mrs. Crain was born Aug. 13, 1957, in West Memphis, the daughter of Daniel Howard Anderson Jr. and Bobbye Joyce Beck Anderson. She was employed as a computer operator for First Tennessee Bank and Jefferson Pilot Communications in Memphis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lafayette.

On June 28, 1980, Mrs. Crain married Kenneth R. Crain of Lafayette and he survives her along with her father of Heth; a son, Bert A. Crain of Lafayette; a brother, Daniel Howard Anderson III of Heth and, two sisters, Roberta Woodson and Beck Anderson both of Raleigh, N.C. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbye Joyce Beck Anderson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Crain were held at the United Methodist Church in Lafayette, on Wednesday, June 23, 2004. Burial followed at Lafayette Cemetery.


Louis D. Harpole

Mr. Louis D. Harpole, age 90, of Marianna, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Harpole was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Mississippi, the son of Alonzo Harpole and Mary Dale White Harpole. He was a retired farmer in the Aubrey community and a member of the County Line Baptist Church.

Mr. Harpole is survived by his wife, Kate Orene Harpole of the home; three sons, William "Billy" Harpole and Larry Harpole both of Marianna and Gary Harpole of Searcy; two daughters, Janice Kasper of Mississippi and Linda Faye Ashburn of Marianna; a sister, Arlena Cavette of Marvell; 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Troy Harpole and three grandchildren, Joseph Craig Harpole, Lee Ashburn and Butch Frakes.

Visitation for Mr. Harpole will be held on Friday, July 2, 2004, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the County Line Baptist Church near Marvell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at 2 p.m., at County Line Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in West Helena. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
