Mary Jo Caruth

Mrs. Mary Jo Caruth, age 73, of Forrest City, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, in Forrest City.

Mrs. Caruth was born, July 4, 1931, in Aubrey, the daughter of B.F. Hinkle and Dorothy McCarn Hinkle. She was a member of the junior auxiliary, the Democratic Central Committee and a member of the Landmark M.B. Church where she was the organist. She also served as a secretary for the county judge.

Mrs. Caruth is survived by a son, Ben Caruth of Morrilton; a daughter, Beverly Caruth of Forrest City; a brother, Charles Hinkle of Aubrey and two grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Caruth will be held on Monday, July 12, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Landmark M.B. Church in Aubrey, at 10 a.m., with Reverends Gary Copeland, Carroll Koon and Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Marianna Memorial Park.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Landmark M.B. Church in Aubrey.


John David Franklin Elliott

Mr. John David Franklin Elliott, age 56, of Palestine, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Elliott was born March 1, 1948, the son of Noah Elliott and Stella Morris Elliott. He worked for Asbestos Heat and Frost Insulators Local #10 in Little Rock and he was a Baptist.

Mr. Elliott is survived by two sons, Jim Bob Elliott of Murphy, Texas and Marty Elliott of Palestine; a daughter, Bonnie Hollowell of Brinkley; a step-daughter, Chyna Ward of Oxford, Miss.; two brothers, Donald Elliott of Palestine and Bobby Elliott of Little Rock; three sisters, Ida "Tootsie" Ballaard and Kaye Dooley both of Forrest City, Geraldine Pendelton of Riverside, California and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Elliott and James C. "Jaybird" Elliott.

Funeral services were held for Mr. Elliott on Monday, July 12, 2004, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home, with Bro. Fred Dover officiating. Burial followed in Bell Cemetery in Palestine.
