Mr. Veno Dent, age 47, of Forrest City, died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Dent, born Oct. 26, 1956, in Forrest City, was the son of John Dent and Ophelia Davenport.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Hunt Dent of Forrest City; his mother of Forrest City; two step-daughters, Sherry Jackson and Mary Jackson, both of Forrest City; a step-son, Jeron Jackson of Forrest City; nine sisters, Julie Trice, Ruth Welch, Betty Alexander, Gracie Dent and Georgia Gross, all of Little Rock; Johnnie Mae Hall, Mary Buckley and Florence Davenport, all of Forrest City, and Zizzie Atkins of New York; three brothers, M.C. Smith and John Davenport, both of Forrest City and Roy Lee Davenport of Little Rock.
Visitation for Mr. Dent will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2004, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Saint's Temple Church of God In Christ with Elder Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
Mr. Stanley Houston, age 93, of Forrest City, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Houston, born Nov. 26, 1910, was a retired farmer.
He is survived by a daughter, Marria Brooks of Forrest City; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Houston will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2004, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004, from noon to 1 p.m. at Stanley Grove Baptist Church in Colt with funeral services following at 1 p.m. Rev. Mitchell Love will officiate the services and burial will follow at Stanley Grove Cemetery.
