Mr. Ulesses Overton, age 79, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Methodist Hospital-Central in Memphis.
Mr. Overton was a retired maintenance supervisor at Sanyo Manufacturing and the owner of both Overton's Liquor and the Coconut Lounge. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
Mr. Overton is survived by his wife, Sarah Overton of Forrest City; a son, Ernest Overton of Forrest City; a sister, Bernice Gordon of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation for Mr. Overton will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, from 10:30 a.m. through 12 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. through 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church on Cross Street with Rev. S.W. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Gardens Cemetery in Edmondson.
