Maxcell Poindexter

Mr. Maxcell Poindexter, age 73, of Wynne, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Crossridge Hospital in Wynne.

Mr. Poindexter was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Vanndale, the son of Clayton Poindexter and Eulah Miller Poindexter. He lived in Wynne for most of his life, was a farmer, a veteran of the Korean War and was a Pentecostal by faith.

Mr. Poindexter married Emogene Miller in 1954 and she survives him along with four sons, Maxey Poindexter of Memphis, Steve D. Poindexter of Jacksonville, Fla., Scott Poindexter of Wynne and Mark Poindexter of Marion; four sisters, Elva Burton and Lois Garver both of Wynne, Mary Miller of Vanndale and Maxine Prapher of Illinois; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Sue Poindexter; four brothers, Clinton Poindexter, Thomas Poindexter, J.B. Poindexter and Jerry Poindexter; two sisters, Opal Peeler and Carolyn Poindexter.

Visitation for Mr. Poindexter will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, June 18, 2004, at 10 a.m., at Vanndale Cemetery in Vanndale.
