Mrs. Christine G. Jumper, age 84, of Palestine, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Jumper was born Oct. 14, 1919, in St. Francis County, the daughter of Adron Pinson Dover and Annie French Dover. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life, was a minister and served the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine for 14 years.
Mrs. Jumper married Homer D. Jumper in 1938 and he survives her along with three sons, Donald Jumper, Jerry Jumper and Kenny Jumper all of Palestine; two daughters, Norma Busby and Judy Hill both of Palestine; a brother, Cletis Dover of Brinkley; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Adron Jumper in 2000.
Visitation for Mrs. Jumper will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine. Funeral services will be held at Twin Assembly of God Church on Thursday, July 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gladys Marie Howell Kay, age 73, of Little Rock and formerly of Malvern, died on Friday, June 25, 2004.
Mrs. Kay, born April 3, 1931, was the daughter of Fred and Myrtle Howell. She was a businesswoman in the Little Rock area for the past 39 years working with Block Mortgage Company prior to opening her own business, Capitol Title Co., Inc., in 1976. She was a member of Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Glen Rose.
Mrs. Kay is survived by a son, Daniel "Danny" Kay; a daughter, Neona M. Treadway; two brothers, Homer Howell and Horace Howell; a sister, Joy Fay Ogden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas B. Kay and a son, David L. Kay.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kay were held on Monday, June 28, 2004, Griffin-Leggett Forest Hills in Alexander with Pastor Todd Bray officiating assisted by Bill House. Burial followed in Forest Hills Memorial Cemetery
