Dean Brasel

Mr. Dean Brasel, age 65, of White Hall, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

Mr. Brasel was born May 1, 1938, in Marietta, Miss., the son of the late Roy Brasel and Alta Donohoo Brasel. He grew up in Barton, was a 1956 graduate of Barton High School. He worked in Helena as vice-president of the First Federal Savings and Loan for a number of years. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1982 and was employed by the first South Savings and Loan in data processing. After his retirement, he was self-employed by Dotty's Country Designs where he made furniture. Mr. Brasel was a member of the South Side Baptist Church.

Mr. Brasel is survived by his wife, Dotty Basse Brasel of White Hall; two daughters, Maurica Dooley of Forrest City and Pam Jackson of Palestine; two brothers, Jerry Brasel of Riverside, Calif. and James Brasel of Helena; a sister Rebecca Dickerson of West Helena; and four grandchildren. Mr. Brasel was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Brasel.

Funeral services for Mr. Brasel will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 2 p.m., at South Side Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Tolbert officiating. Visitation will follow the services in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will be private. Fuller Funeral Services of Pine Bluff is in charge of all arrangements.
