Mr. Archie Lee Davis, age 57, of Colt, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Davis was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Madison, the son of Thanual Davis and Dorothy Davis Gray. He is survived by a daughter, Sharonda Davis of West Memphis and a sister, Lena Hutchins of Memphis.
Visitation for Mr. Davis will be held on Friday, March 19, 2004, from 12 to 5 p.m., in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at 1 p.m., at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church with Rev. Eddie Mosby officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery.
Mrs. Ethel Edwards, age 92, of Forrest City and formerly of Memphis, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Edwards was a house wife and a member of the United Christian M.B. Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edwards. Mrs. Edwards is survived by 11 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bilsie Sain and a son, James A. Patton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edwards will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the United Christian M.B. Church, at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery. The Victory Funeral Home of Memphis is in charge of all arrangements.
Mr. Bryson "Buddy" Wright, age 78, of Forrest City, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mr. Bryson is survived by his wife, Louise Wright of the home; one son, James Wright of Wynne; four daughters, Arnetta Wright of Forrest City, Ruth Ann Harris and ReShell Brooks, both of Chicago, Ill. and Vicki Ethredge of Biloxi, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing for Mr. Wright will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the Beth Salem Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Beth Salem Baptist Church with Elder Ransom Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
