Mr. Sylvester Hollins, age 80, of Palestine, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2004.
Mr. Hollins was born in Vaughn, Miss., Jan. 1, 1924. He was a mail handler and a veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mae Evelyn Hollins of Palestine; four sons, Conell Hollins, Alvin Hollins and Perry Hollins all of Chicago, Ill., and Lamont Hollins of Palestine; three daughters, Tonyia Nelson of Nashville, Tenn., Ruby Thomas of Chicago, Ill. and Nita Fry of Forrest City; a sister, Izetta Diggs of Vaughn, Miss.; 26 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Hollins will be held on Friday, March 26, 2004, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Pine Tree Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Stanley Grove Cemetery in Colt.
