Cecil Arnold McKee

Mr. Cecil Arnold McKee, age 92, a life long resident of Colt and Forrest City, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. McKee was a self employed farmer and logger for most of his life until retiring in 1980. He was a former employee of Yale Hoists, and a member of Colt Baptist Church.

Mr. McKee is survived by three sons, Larry McKee of Munford, Tenn., Steve McKee of Wynne and Cleo McKee of Colt; seven daughters, Francis Jenkins of Las Vegas, Nev., Shirley Drouin of Vista, Calif., Carol Wilkins of Cordova, Tenn., Becky Oakes of Williford and Laverne Dempsey, Wanda McKee and Needie Rountree all of Forrest City; a sister, Aretha Weaver of Searcy; 29 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchilden. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Gene McKee and a daughter, Linda McKee Slaughter.

Visitation for Mr. McKee will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pine Tree Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Pine Tree Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Bradley and Bro. Jessie Eugene officiating. Burial will follow in Barnishaw Cemetery in Pine Tree. Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne is in charge of all arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Barnishaw Cemetery Fund.


Carol Jean Woodard

Mrs. Carol Jean Woodard, age 53, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock. She was a member of the Macedonia M.B. Church in Madison.

Mrs. Woodard is survived by her husband, Jessie L. Woodard of Forrest City; her mother, Geneva Jones Swift of Forrest City; four sons, Clifton A.M. Woodard and Vincent C. Woodard both of Forrest City, Jessie L. Woodard Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif. and Jerry Woodard of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Kristi D. Hall, Tamika K. Woodard both of Forrest City, Carolyn Hall of Memphis and Koeiger Worshams of Los Angeles, Calif. ; four sisters, De'Cheryl C.C. Swift of Blenheim, N.J., Dorothy Brandon of Chicago, Ill., Mattie Harris of St. Louis, Mo. and Evelyn Norwood of Memphis; five brothers, John C. Swift of Dallas, Texas, Jerrell C. Swift of Desoto, Texas, Darrell Swift of Forrest City, Lemuel Swift of Cedar Hill, Texas and Leonard T. Swift of Marion and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Woodard will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Beth Salem Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 12 p.m., at Beth Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Roy Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Gardens in Edmondson. Woodard Funeral Services of Wynne is in charge of all arrangements.
