Rev. Smith Foy Jr., age 75, of Forrest City, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Rev. Foy was born June 6, 1928, in Starkville, Miss. He was a retired supervisor with the Forrest City Water Utility.
Rev. Foy is survived by his wife, Dolores Foy of Forrest City; a son, Kevin Foy of Little Rock; three daughters, Sarah Ann Newman of Champaign, Ill. and Anita Camille Rush and Doris Neville both of Indianapolis, Ind.; four brothers, James Foy of Markham, Ill., Theodis Foy of Lima, Ohio, and Sylvester Foy and Doc Henry Foy both of Sidney, Ohio; five sisters, Sarah Lee Sims, Julia Mason and Dolories McGee all of Sidney, Ohio, Gertha Lee Jelks of Piqua, Ohio, and Belinda Ann Williams of Lima, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Rev. Foy will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Ray Peals Jr. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Leonard, age 78, of Moro, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Leonard was born Dec. 25, 1925, in England, the daughter of Dee Coulter and Georgia Brazil Coulter. She was a housewife and a member of the Faith M.B. Church.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her husband Jesse Leonard of the home; a daughter, Ann Williams of Moro; two sons, Danny Goodman of Beebe and Tommy Goodman of Marianna; one brother, Henry Coulter of Hixon, Tenn.; three step-daughters, Sandra Collins of Jacksonville, and Beth Reed and Denise Presley both of Austin; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dee Coulter, Buddy Coulter and David Coulter; one grandchild, Danny Lee Goodwin Jr. and a step-son Earnest Leonard.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Leonard on Saturday, May 29, 2004, in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Burial followed in Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery in Marianna.
Mr. Patrick L. Mason, age 55, of West Memphis, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mr. Mason was born Aug. 3, 1948, the son of Raven Mason and Ruth Leamon Mason. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Mason of the home; two sons, Aaron McKenzie Mason of Memphis and Jeffrey Mason of Ashflat; a daughter, Amy Ferebee of West Virginia; five step-daughters; five brothers, James Mason of Forrest City, Raven Mason Jr. of Aiken, S.C., Don Robert Mason of Strawberry, Ariz., K. David Mason of San Diego, Calif. and Charles L. Mason of Lepanto; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Mason were held on Sunday, May 30, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
