Council to select site for building

The Forrest City City Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at city hall.

Councilmen have several items of unfinished business to discuss, beginning with the third reading of an ordinance to set the hours to sell, serve or permit consumption of beer, wine or alcoholic beverages. Councilmen will also hear the second reading of an ordinance to waive the competitive bidding requirement for the sale of an aerial truck.

Councilmen will also be asked to select the site for the city's new multi-purpose center and approve the definition of a landscape buffer.

Under new business, the council will consider an ordinance regarding dilapidated vehicles on residential property, and consider a 20-foot variance for David Bokker at 625 W. Broadway for the placement of a sign.
