Dora Enid Crofford

Mrs. Dora Enid Crofford, age 89, of Delaplaine, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in Jonesboro.

Mrs. Crofford was born Nov. 4, 1915 in Delaplaine, the daughter of Martha Malissie Steele and Benjamin Franklin Steele. She was a lifelong resident of Delaplaine, a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School, a factory worker for 13 years at Ed White Shoe Factory in Paragould, worked 18 years with TRW Cinch Connectors in Pocahontas and was a member of the Delaplaine M.B. Church.

Mrs. Crofford is survived by a daughter, Nickie Ellen Brown of Jonesboro; a son, Johnny Mack Crofford of Forrest City; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Anthony Crofford and two brothers, Everett Faye Steele and Ernest Arnold Steele.

Visitation for Mrs. Crofford will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould, with Rev. Johnny Niswonger officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.


Lawrence Ricker

Mr. Lawrence Ricker, age 95, of Higden, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004.

Mr. Ricker was born Feb. 2, 1909, in Clay County, the son of Dave Ricker and Nettie Barringer Ricker. He worked in the timber and sawmill industries and farmed. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and was a Christian.

Mr. Ricker is survived by a son, Neal Ricker of Higden; a daughter, Elaine Shirts of Oregon; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton is in charge of cremation arrangements.
