Rev. Juster Doyle Jr.

Rev. Juster Doyle Jr., age 57, of Palestine, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at his home.

Rev. Doyle, born March 15, 1947, in Forrest City, was the son of the late Juster Doyle Sr. and Iola Hamilton. He was a retiree of Sanyo Manufacturing where he worked for 37 years.

Rev. Doyle is survived by his wife, Annie Banks Doyle of Palestine; two daughters, Charlotte Doyle of Forrest City and Chentalia Lane of Palestine; three sons, Jeffery Doyle and Terry Doyle both of Forrest City and Jerry Doyle of Memphis; three sisters, Bernice Bradley and Bessie Smith, both of Forrest City and Estella Marlowe of Benton Harbor, Mich.; a brother, Willie James Doyle of Benton Harbor, Mich., and nine grandchildren.

Visitation for Rev. Doyle will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, from noon to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Palestine-Wheatley High School Gymnasium with Rev. Lee Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Eddie Hill

Mr. Eddie Hill, age 74, of Madison died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Hill, born Nov. 28, 1929, in Marianna, was the son of Eddie Hill Sr. and Queen Ester Hanks Hill. He is survived by his wife, Mattie Bell Hill of Madison; four daughters, Eddie Mae Hill of Forrest City, Bobbie Jean Pittman of Little Rock, Shanta Hill of Madison and Ethel Bryson of Mariann; five sons, Eric Hill, Patrick Bell, James Bell and Kevin Bell, all of Forrest City and Billy Ray Bryson of Marianna; seven sisters, Laura McFee of Pine Bluff, Ernestine Carton of Aubrey, Roberta Seats of Marianna, Estella Thomas and Susie Coleman, both of Woodson; six brothers, Henry Hill, Percy Hill and Sterling Hill, all of Marianna, David Hill of Madison and Willie Hill and Harry Hill, both of St. Louis, Mo. and 26 grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Hill will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at 3:30 p.m. at Riverside M.B. Church in Widener with Rev. Marland Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Bond Cemetery.


Mildred McGaughy

Mrs. Mildred McGaughy, age 82, of Forrest City, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.

Mrs. McGaughy, born Jan. 28, 1922, in Helena, was a retired housekeeper. She is survived by seven sons, Calvin McGaughy of Lonoke, William Cole of Fort Wayne, Ind., Horace McGaughy of Detroit, Mich., Roosevelt McGaughy and John McGaughy, both of Ypsilanti, Mich., Eugene McGaughy of Forrest City and Wallace McGaughy of Jonesboro; three daughters, Barbara McGaughy and Shirley McGaughy, both of Forrest City and Mable McGaughy of Little Rock; two brothers Jessie Wheeler of Hammond, Ind., and George Wheeler of Forrest City; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Mildred McGaughy will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. Saint's Temple Church of God in Church with Elder Vernon Briscoe officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.


Willie Lee Thompson

Mr. Willie Lee Thompson, 54, of Widener, died Friday, Sept. 24, in Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Vera Mae Thompson of Widener; three daughters, Anna Britt, Patricia Perkins and Shelia Thompson all of Widener; two sons, Raymond Thompson of Little Rock and Jerry Thompson of Hot Springs; five sisters, Erma Wonsley of St. Louis, Mo., Sharann Hill, Patricia Brown and Cynthia Johnson all of Jonesboro and Janet Jones of Marion; six brothers, Tommy Thompson and Walter Thompson both of St. Louis, Mo., Louis Thompson and Stanley Thompson both of Forrest City, Freddie Thompson of Widener and Patrick Thompson of Jonesboro and eight grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Thompson will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Home Chapel South in West Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Grove M.B. Church at Round Pond. Burial will follow in Whitmore Cemetery in Whitmore.
