Mr. Johnnie R. McClendon, age 76, of Gill, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004.
Mr. McClendon, the son of Robert McClendon and Mary Mathews of Gill, was a member and deacon of Wall Chapel Church. He was also a retired farmer and the former Lee County Tax Assessor. He was a decorated Korean War Veteran and active in the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sybil Ford McClendon of Gill; two sons, Larry McClendon of Marianna and Dr. Glenn McClendon of Conway; a brother, Charles McClendon of Holub Crossing; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. McClendon were held on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Wall Chapel Church with burial following at Hopewell Cemetery in Gill. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Janice Faye Ramsey, age 59, of Stuttgart died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004.
Mrs. Ramsey, born Dec. 31, 1944, in Stuttgart, was the daughter of Charles Hoskyn and Jean Duff Hoskyn, was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and handbells. She was a retired teacher, having taught for 33 years.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by five brothers, John Paul "Jack" Hoskyn of Little Rock, Thomas Charles Hoskyn, Jerry Joe Hoskyn, James Eugene "Jim" Hoskyn and Ronald Lynn "Ronny" Hoskyn, all of Stuttgart; two sisters, Harriette Irene Boyd of Sheridan and Debra Ann Romine of Jacksonville and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edward Ramsey and a brother, William Robert "Bill" Hoskyn.
Visitation for Mrs. Ramsey will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Agnes Renfro, age 91, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mrs. Renfro was born April 17, 1913, in Moro, the daughter of Andrew Gunter and Helen Ora Young Gunter. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life and was a retired nurse. She was also a member of the Oak Hill Church of God.
In 1933, Mrs. Renfro married Homer Renfro and he preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by a son, Homer Renfro of Tucson, Ariz.; seven daughters, Lillian St. George and Norma Bayer, both of California, Lou Jackson and Helen Bartlett, both of Forrest City, Joyce Fair of Heber Springs, Naomi Criss of Caldwell and Martha Earl of Colt; 36 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Renfro was also preceded in death by two daughters, Doris Renfro and Lois Brown.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Janette Vaughn, age 71, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Vaughn was born Aug. 22, 1933, in Glenwood. She moved to St. Francis County and lived here for most of her life. She was a sales associate with Byrds Grocery and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madison.
Mrs. Vaughn married Haskell A. Vaughn in 1951 and he survives her along with two sons, Terry Vaughn of Heber Springs and Tracy Vaughn of Forrest City; two daughters, Trudy Wooten and Tammy Criss, both of Colt; a sister, Sherrye Vickers of Ft. Smith; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Vaughn will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Madison. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.
