Cora Lena Hooks

Mrs. Cora Lena Hooks, age 98, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Hooks was born Oct. 22, 1905, in Magnolia and she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Hooks is survived by five sons, Mose Hooks of Little Rock, Walter Hooks of Texarkana, Texas, Charles Hooks of Loma Linda, Calif., Bill Hooks of Blue Springs, Mo. and Gene A. Hooks of Bristow, Okla.; and seven daughters, Virda Polite, Ida Favor and Mamie Jones all of Tulsa, Okla., Corarine Malone of Long Beach, Calif., Katherine Siggers of St. Louis, Mo., Betty Isabel and Alberta Stewart both of Forrest City. She is also survived by a sister, Clydie Monroe of Little Rock; 49 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Hooks will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at 10 a.m., at the Salem M.B. Church with Rev. Vernon Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in French Cemetery in Foreman.
