‘The Sound of Music’

‘The Sound of Music’

Captain Georg von Trapp, played by Matt Overturf, left, and the new governess Maria, played by Julie Phillians, second from left, have their first – but not their last – disagreement, this one over whether to call the children with a whistle. The von Trapp children, continuing from left, are Sarah Sandy as Liesl, Cannon Fisher as Friedrich, Marlee Wilson as Louisa, Camille Cathey as Brigitta, Landon Standridge as Kurt, Sarah Crowell as Marta and Emily Uptigrove as Gretl. The Forrest City Little Theatre, in conjunction with the Humanities Department at East Arkansas Community College, will present the beloved Rogers and Hammerstein musical, “The Sound of Music,” on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m., in the EACC Fine Arts Center auditorium. General Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for EACC students with a valid I.D. and $5 for children. Photo by David Nichol.
