Honoring King

The Forrest City Education Association held its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration on Monday to honor the famed civil rights leader. The FCEA hosts the event, which features music, prayers and speeches, all in remembrance of King. This year’s celebration was held at the Forrest City Civic Center. The keynote speaker this year was Ernestine Weaver, who spoke about the importance of young people being taught about the civil rights movement.
