Wreck in the rain

A lunch hour wreck slowed westbound traffic on West Broadway Friday. According to the accident report, the wreck occurred about 11:45 a.m., at the intersection of West Broadway and North Water streets, involving a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Johnny Walker, 18, of Forrest City, and a 2001 Toyota Tundra, driven Malvin Pitts, 70, also of Forrest City. Walker reportedly was attempting to turn onto Broadway from Water when his vehicle was struck by Pitts, who was driving west on Broadway. An ambulance was called, but no one was transported to the hospital. Damage to both vehicles is estimated at $3,000. Photo by Alan Smith.
