P-W Patriots enter AA state tournament as a No. 4 seed; will face CRA Tuesday

Tough loss: Palestine-Wheatley’s Raphael Williams (50) battles Dermott’s Terrance Johnson (34) during Friday’s semifinal game at the Class AA East Regional in Augusta. Dermott won the game on a last-second shot. P-W will open AA state tournament play Tuesday against CRA at Danville.

AUGUSTA — The Palestine-Wheatley Patriots breezed past Woodlawn Thursday in the first round of the Class AA East Regional at Augusta.

After that, it wasn’t such a great ride for the Class AA state bound Patriots.
