Preparations were being made this morning for Wednesday’s Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas commodity distribution. Food arrived at the Forrest City Civic Center today. The distribution will begin at 9 a.m., and will continue until the food runs out. The distribution will be held at the Civic Center, the Hughes Community Center and the city halls of Palestine and Wheatley. Forrest City emergency officials were called to an accident on North Washington Friday afternoon involving a motorcycle driven by Joshua Lieblong, 25, of Searcy, and a truck driven by Gary Thomas, 40, of Forrest City. There were no major injuries reported in the accident. The Lieblong vehicle had $3,000 in damages while the Thomas vehicle had $2,000 in damages. Thomas is charged with no proof of liability insurance and a sixth offense of driving with a suspended driver’s license. Photo by Kendall Owens.

As the county’s Miss Rice for 2013, Ramsey will represent the rice industry and be available to give presentations about rice for classrooms and organizations.
