Focusing on the curves

Work on the curves in the railroad tracks in Forrest City has been taking place since Saturday. About 29 members of what is known as a “curve gang” have been in the area replacing the tracks. Learning to dance

East Arkansas Community College hosted a Career Cluster Camp for high school students today on the school’s campus. The students were placed in groups and attended sessions in three areas of study including: Agriculture/Food/Natural Resources, Arts/Visual/Communications and Health Sciences. This group of students learn a dance from local dance instructor Janet Northcutt in the EACC Lecture Hall. There were also booths in a Career Fair. The event lasted until about 2 p.m., and featured Hollis Conway, Olympic Medalist, at the keynote speaker. Photo by Alan Smith.

Making repairs

Repairs are being made near the exit of the Forrest City Sports Complex. Reginald Sanford, with the FC Parks and Recreation Department, operates a tractor while Jimmy Ivory, with the city’s street department, rakes up old asphalt.
