Ready to move up 5/8

The 2012-13 school year has entered its last few weeks, and students are leaving their current grades behind. It is no different for the four-year-olds at the ABC Preschool. Students from the school today toured Central Elementary School where they will be attending kindergarten in the fall. A group of the students are shown in the classroom of Central kindergarten teacher Ennie Hardrick. Hardrick welcomed the children to the school and shared with them information about what to expect in the fall. Photo by Alan Smith.

Remodeling 5/8

Who's calling? 5/7

Making it shine 5/7

Forrest City Fire Department firefighters wear a lot of hats. They respond to fires, medical emergencies, and vehicle accidents. They also serve as a car wash of sorts most mornings, making sure that the fire engines are clean and shining. Firefighter Terry Cox dries the front of one of the engines this morning. Remembering their loved ones

Sistas and Others, a support group for families who have lost a child, did not let the cool temperatures or rain stop them from this pre-Mother’s Day event on Saturday. The potluck dinner and program were held inside Forrest City Medical Center, followed by a balloon release to honor their children. For more information about the group, contact Carol Baker at 261-3136. Photo by Alan Smith.
