Moving them along: The Forrest City Police Department was called into action Sunday afternoon when a pair of cows decided to find greener grass along East Broadway. The cows, which are owned by Dr. James Gehring, had gotten out of their enclosure and were grazing near the roadway when a motorist called police. Police officers, with assistance from Gehring, center, and other passersby, were able to herd the cattle back into their pen. Photo by Kendall Owens.

Lady Mustang signs: Forrest City senior Kesha Stovall, seated center, signed a national letter-of-intent to play college basketball for Henderson State University Thursday afternoon in a signing ceremony held in the Forrest City High School Library. Stovall was a two-year starter for the Forrest City Lady Mustang basketball team for coach Jacky England. Seated beside Stovall are her parents, LaRona McClurg and Keith Stovall. The Lady Mustang basketball team is standing behind Stovall. Besides playing basketball at HSU, Stovall plans to major in journalism with hopes of becoming a sportscaster. Photo by Fred Conley.
