Art show tonight: The 2007 Arkansas Art Educator’s Regional Art Show and Competition will be held tonight at 6 at Central Elementary School. The event is being sponsored by First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas, the First National Bank of Wynne in Forrest City and Regions Bank, along with the AAE. The 96 pieces of art from students in grades kindergarten through 12 have been on display at the school since Monday. Razorback banquet: The East Central Arkansas Razorback Club will hold its annual banquet on Monday, March 12, at the Forrest City Civic Center. Arkansas Razorback football coach Houston Nutt will be the featured speaker and KTHV-Channel 11 Sports Anchor C

Razorback banquet: The East Central Arkansas Razorback Club will hold its annual banquet on Monday, March 12, at the Forrest City Civic Center. Arkansas Razorback football coach Houston Nutt will be the featured speaker and KTHV-Channel 11 Sports Anchor Craig O’Neill will be the guest master of ceremonies. Advance tickets are now on sale for $15 each at Al Miller Insurance and at Capital Financial Services Croup, Inc. from Buddy Billingsley. The banquet will feature a silent auction which will include autographed football jerseys by Lance Alworth and Arkansas’ Darren McFadden as well as various other items and memorabilia. The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour until 7 p.m. The meal will be catered by Corky’s and will include BBQ and spaghetti. Adoption Day: Tori Benjamin, 11, plays with a puppy through a cage door during the adoption day held at the Forrest City Animal Shelter. According to Gay Schwartz of the Forrest City Area Humane Society, five dogs were adopted, and around 50 people came, which she said was not bad considering the weather.
