Fashions for spring

The St. Francis County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee held its annual spring fashion show and luncheon Thursday to celebrate Administrative Professional’s Day. The event was held at the Forrest City Country Club, and area ladies modeled attire from LEAH and edwin houston. Niki Jones, standing, speaks to Ronnie Nix. Lighting the stage

Josh Rogers, technical manager for East Arkansas Community College, has been busy the past few days making adjustments to the stage lighting in the Fine Arts Center in preparation for Saturday’s Herman’s Hermit’s, staring Peter Noone, and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap Band concert. Rogers is in charge of lighting, sound and video at EACC. The concert begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are still available. Photo by Fred Conley.

6AA Conference Champs

 

The Palestine-Wheatley Patriots won the 6AA Conference senior boys track title Saturday at Heber Springs. Third place

The Palestine-Wheatley Lady Patriots track team finished third Saturday at the 6AA Conference Meet at Heber Springs. Fatal house fire

Lloyd Hardrick, of 300 Rolfe Street, died in his home on Wednesday when a kerosene lamp is believed to have started a fire there. Officials with the Forrest City Fire Department said items stored in the home made it difficult to reach Hardrick. It is the first fatality recorded in a house fire in several years in Forrest City.  Photo by Alan Smith.

 

 

Promoting walking

The Hometown Health Network held its Walk At Lunch Day today at the Forrest City Sports Complex. The event encouraged people to take up to 30 minutes of their lunch today to walk in the hopes that people will take some time out of every day to walk for their health. Laying the tile 4/24
