Waiting to go home: The students at Central Elementary School lined up to go home after their official dismissal at 3 p.m., but they had been forced from the building twice earlier in the day due to bomb threats. The Forrest City Police Department has made one arrest in the incidents, which disrupted classes at most area schools, including East Arkansas Community College and Crowley’s Ridge Vo-Tech. Morning accident: A woman was transported to Forrest City Medical Center this morning after an accident on Interstate 40. According to a state trooper at the scene, the woman was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle as she hit some ice

Morning accident: A woman was transported to Forrest City Medical Center this morning after an accident on Interstate 40. According to a state trooper at the scene, the woman was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle as she hit some ice on the overpass at Newcastle Road. The car reportedly flipped and came to rest in the westbound lane. The Forrest City Fire Department’s rescue squad had to cut her out of the car. Home damaged: This home at 1021 Truman, occupied by Delois Dent, was severely damaged by fire on Friday. Firefighters responded to the fire about 2:54 p.m. No one was injured, but 75 percent of the house received fire damage and 100 percent received smoke
