Fire at “The Valley”: Forrest City firefighters were called to Mr. Bill’s Valley, known to many simply as “The Valley,” at 2512 E. Broadway, on Thursday afternoon. Cause of fire: An early morning fire today on Water Street could have been worse if not for a Forrest City police officer who was patrolling the area. Officer James Tucker saw the smoke from the home, kicked in the door and saved the residents. Assistant Fire Chief and fire marshall Anthony Renigar holds a bathroom exhaust fan and heater that caused the fire. Renigar said Tucker’s quick actions probably saved lives and further property damage. Photo by Alan Smith.
